In 1998, web browsers did not have many HTML features, but they did start to come with a Java Virtual Machine inside, thus granting a new power to the web programmer to display data in novel ways. However, that data has to come from somewhere. This talk covers the variety of ways and their pros and cons of connecting a Java Applet inside a Web Browser to Sybase databases.
